The NWRRC AKC Lure Coursing Seminar is going to take place on Saturday, August 15,2009 @ the Mt. Si Golf Course Bar & Restaurant. Seminar begins @ 8am.

Fees: $30 for judges, $25 for NWRRC members, and $40 for all others.Food is available from Mt Si Golf Course Restaurant.

INTERSTATE 90 – EASTBOUND
From Interstate 90 Eastbound. Take exit number 27 (Snoqualmie exit). At the end of the off ramp turn left and follow the road approximately one (1) mile. At the end of one mile the left lane will become a turn lane. Take this turn, following the signs to the town of Snoqualmie. You are now on Meadowbrook Way. Follow Meadowbrook Way approximately 1/2 mile until you will come to a traffic light located at the intersection of Highway 202. Go straight through this intersection, staying on Meadowbrook Way. Continue following Meadowbrook Way until you pass Mount Si High School, which will be on your left. (CAUTION: Watch your speed in the school zone!). The first intersection after the high school will be Park Street. This will be a four way stop. Turn right onto Park Street and follow approximately 3/4 of a mile to the golf course entrance. (CAUTION: You will pass through a second school zone!).HIGHWAY 202 – EASTBOUND
Follow Highway 202 into and through downtown Snoqualmie until you reach the traffic light at Meadowbrook Way. Turn left onto Meadowbrook Way and follow 1/2 mile to Park Street. Turn right onto Park Street and continue approximately 3/4 of a mile to the golf course entrance.INTERSTATE 90 – WESTBOUND
From Interstate 90 take exit number 31 and turn right, towards downtown North Bend. You will be on Bendigo Street (this is also known as North Bend Blvd. or HWY 202). From the traffic light in North Bend continue north on Bendigo Street. It will turn west and head out of North Bend towards the town of Snoqualmie. Approximately 1/2 mile out of North Bend turn right onto Boalch Avenue. Follow Boalch approximately 1 mile to the entrance of the golf course.Anyone who is interesting in AKC Lure coursing or becoming an AKC lure course judge—or maintaining eligibility as an AKC judge should plan to attend. This will be the first such seminar held in Western WA in quite some time. If you currently are eligible to judge, you need to plan on taking a written test, or attending a seminar in order to maintain your status.EXCERPT FROM THE AKC LURE COURSING RULES, EFFECTIVE 2009.
All judges must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be in good standing with The American Kennel Club and at least 21 years of age.
- Must have three years experience in lure coursing, including experience as a lure operator, field chairman or field secretary.
- New judges must attend an AKC Lure Coursing Seminar and score a minimum of 85% correct on the written exam covering AKC “Regulations for Lure Coursing Tests and Trials.”
- Must apply by using an application provided by The AKC. The application is obtained at the seminar.
- Must apprentice under at least three different judges at a minimum of two separate coursing trials.
- Must apprentice 20 stakes with a minimum entry of four in each stake.
- It is recommended that prospective judges apprentice in as many breeds as possible.
- (Effective 1/1/11) To maintain judging eligibility existing judges must attend a seminar or pass an open book written test (85% correct) within six years of the event date they are asked to judge.
