Here is the flyer for SISFA’s Sep 26/27 race meets:

Southern Idaho Sighthound Field Association

  • Large Gazehound Racing Association- 200-yard sprints
  • Independent Whippet Racing Organization – 200-yard sprints
  • North American Straight Racing – 100-yard sprints (Dachshunds & Jack Russells and single racers)

ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to purebred Afghan Hounds, Basenji, Borzoi, Chart Polski, Cirneco dell’Etna, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, and Sloughi. Hounds must be one year of age or older to be eligible.
  • Non-sighthounds owned by entrants may race between programs, muzzled only or compete for Singles Racing Championship through NASR.
  • Each hound must have a completed and signed entry form. Those with First Time Entered (FTE) hounds must attach a photocopy of your dog’s registration to your entry form, along with a one-time $2.00 registration fee. If your adopted NGA Greyhound does not have an AKC, ILP, NGA or other registration number, please make sure ALL other information is filled out on the entry form, including ear tattoo numbers, certificate and volume number.

HOUNDS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ENTER WITHOUT A COMPLETED AND SIGNED ENTRY FORM. A completed entry includes the photocopy of the dog’s registration for FTEs!!!

ENTRIES

  • Pre-entries: $10.00 first dog per owner, $8 additional dogs, same owner. Five or more dogs, same owner, $40.00. Pre-entries close Thursday, Sep 24, 6 PM. Pre-entries may be made by phone, e-mail, or snail mail.
  • Same-day entries: $12 per dog. Entries close 1030 am on Saturday and 1030 am on Sunday at the Race Secretary’s table, for first time entered dogs only. Dogs with WAVES must be pre-entered.
  • Practice runs are one for $5 and a full program for $10.

OTHER INFO

  • CGCs will be offered for $8 if you preregister, $15 the day of the race.
  • Inspection and roll call will begin at 1030 am
  • Race meets will be 3 program, 4 dog races, 200-yard straight sprints, except NASR, which are 100-yards.
  • NOTE: All breeds will be hand-slipped except whippets, dachshunds, and Jack Russells, which will be boxed.
  • All breeds must run with muzzles and racing blankets. A limited number of muzzles and blankets will be available for loan. FTE dogs may benefit from muzzle training at home before the meet.
  • Ribbons and fun awards for point winners. Rosettes and trophies will be awarded for High Score in Breed.

FACILITIES

  • Weather in Idaho can be mild or very cold this time of year. Bring hot drinks and warm clothing that can be shed in layers.
  • IMPORTANT!! No water is available at the field! Bring sufficient water for your hounds!!
  • Please bring your own shade, food, water, and refreshments.

DIRECTIONS
From the west: take the second US30 exit (#9) from I-84. Turn right onto Idaho 72 (SE 1st Av). Go straight at Sand Hollow Road to get on Idaho 52, still heading east. Proceed to Vanderdasson Road.

From the east: take Idaho 55 north exit (#46) from I-84. Proceed on Idaho 55 to Idaho 44 west (also called State Street). Turn right at Idaho 16. Proceed on Idaho 16 to the junction with Idaho 52 and go straight 4.75 miles to Vanderdasson Road.

Vanderdasson Road is between mileposts 25 and 26 on Idaho 52. Tom’s Cabin CafĂ© is approximately on the opposite corner. Turn north onto Vanderdasson and proceed across the railroad tracks. The driveway to the field is a right turn immediately after crossing the bridge over the irrigation ditch. The address on the mailbox is 1114. There will be signs on Idaho 52 and on Vanderdasson indicating the direction to the field.

Please close any gates you open after entering the driveway from Vanderdasson.
