Here is the flyer for BCWRC’s June 12/13th race meets:

NAWRA DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND!
BRITISH COLUMBIA WHIPPET RACING CLUB

June 12th and 13th, 2010
Upper Sumas Elementary
36321 Vye Road, Abbotsford, BC, CANADA

ADULTS:     150 yds, drag lure over grass, 4 pgms
PUPPIES:    150 yds, drag lure over grass, 3 pgms

ENTRY FEES:  $12 first adult, $10 each additional; puppies-$8: kennel rate-$36
PRACTICE RUNS: $3 per run, per dog.  Sign-up sheet to be provided.

INSPECTION:   Beginning at 9:30 AM both days.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FIELD:
Upper Sumas Elementary is located at the intersection of Vye and Whatcom Roads.  The entrance is off of Vye.  The field is fenced.  Take the Trans-Canada Hwy (Hwy #1) to Exit 95 (Whatcom Road).  Proceed south on Whatcom Road for 1.5 miles to Vye Road.  Turn left onto Vye.

>From the U.S.: Take the Sumas border crossing which will put you on Sumas Way/Hwy 11.  Continue for about one mile to Vye.  Turn right onto Vye.  Continue on Vye for two miles to 36321 Vye Road.

LUNCH:    BCWRC will be hosting a lunch buffet both days.

DAY-OF-MEET REGISTRATION:
Please consider day-of-meet registration as a last resort.  Pre-registering with NAWRA is easy, and we strongly encourage you to do it.  Just click on the link below and follow the instructions:  http://www.nawra.com/register/html We will collect the U.S.$2 fee from you for your First-Time-Entered whippet(s) on the day of the meet.

If you must register your dog on the day of the meet, bring with you a photocopy of the dog’s CKC or AKC registration.  Write your dog’s call name, your name, address, phone number and email on the photocopy.  We will collect the U.S.$2 FTE fee from you.  Dogs not pre-registered or properly registered on the day of the meet will not be allowed to compete.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  Proof of registration with the CKC or AKC is required for puppies as well, although proof of litter registration is acceptable for puppies.

Canada Customs requires an up-to-date rabies certificate for each dog.  Dog food transported form the U.S. into Canada must be in its original packaging in order to be returned to the U.S.  Note that humans require valid proof of identification and citizenship to cross the borders.  Make sure you have with you your passport, NEXUS card, U.S. Passport Card, or Enhanced Driver’s License.
