Pre-entry fees: $12 first dog; $10 second dog; Puppies $8

• Saturday, May 12th, ASFA Basenji Specialty:  Vern Staack will judge alone for all Certification Runs and courses at the Trial.
• Sunday, May 13th, ASFA All-breed Trial:  Vern Staack will judge for all Certification Runs and courses at the Trial.  Ann Chamberlain will judge Basenjis only (unless she is feeling well enough to cover more breeds as well; a final decision will be made prior to the start of the Trial).

Anyone who wishes to withdraw entries they have already submitted should contact the Field Trial Secretary, Judy Lange.  EBC is sorry for this last minute change, but we hope it does not affect your plans to join us for what will be an enjoyable weekend of coursing.

to the left. There is a “Clearbrook Park” sign.

BRITISH COLUMBIA WHIPPET RACING CLUB
May 5 and 6, 2012

ADULTS: 150 yds, drag lure over grass, 4 pgms
PUPPIES: 150 yds, drag lure over grass, 3 pgms
SPRINTERS: for whippets ineligible to run in NAWRA, 150 yds, 3 pgms

ENTRY FEES: $13 first adult, $11 each additional; puppies and sprinters–$8. Kennel rate (same owner)–$40. Day-of-meet entries: $20 per dog and no kennel fee in effect.

PRACTICE RUNS: $3 per run, per dog. Please contact RS Darien Adley by Thursday, May 3rd if you would like to practice your dog(s). We plan to hold no more than four practice runs between each program, so you’ll need to sign up in advance. Indicate if your dog would be running by itself or could run with another dog.

INSPECTION: Beginning at 9:30 AM both days.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FIELD: Upper Sumas Elementary is located at the intersection of Vye and Whatcom Roads. The entrance is off of Vye. The field is fenced. Take the Trans-Canada Hwy (Hwy #1) to Exit 95 (Whatcom Road). Proceed south on Whatcom Road for 1.5 miles to Vye Road. Turn left onto Vye.

From the U.S.: Take the Sumas border crossing which will put you onto Sumas Way/Hwy 11. Continue for about one mile to Vye. Turn right onto Vye. Continue on Vye for two miles to 36321 Vye Road.

LUNCH: BCWRC will be hosting a lunch buffet both days.

DAY-OF-MEET REGISTRATION:Please consider day-of-meet registration as a last resort. Pre-registering with NAWRA is easy, and we strongly encourage you to do it. Just click on the link below, and follow the instructions: http://www.nawra.com/register.html  We will collect the U.S.$2 fee from you for your First-Time-Entered whippet(s) on the day of the meet.

If you must register your dog on the day of the meet, bring with you a photocopy of the dog’s CKC or AKC registration. Write your dog’s call name, your name, address, phone number and email on the photocopy. We will collect the U.S.$2 FTE fee from you. Dogs not pre-registered or properly registered on the day of the meet will not be allowed to compete. NO EXCEPTIONS! Proof of registration with the CKC or AKC is required for puppies as well, although proof of litter registration is acceptable for puppies.

Canada Customs requires an up-to-date rabies certificate for each dog. Dog food transported form the U.S. into Canada should be in its original packaging in order to be returned to the U.S. Note that humans require valid proof of identification and citizenship to cross the borders. Make sure you have with you your passport, NEXUS card, U.S. Passport Card, or Enhanced Driver’s License.

MOTELS: Best Western Bakerview http://www.bestwesternbakerview.com/ takes dogs and is offering a reduced rate to meet attendees of $89.99/night if you call 1-877-336-6156 and say that you’ll be going to the BCWRC race meet.  There are other events happening in Abbotsford the May 5-6 weekend, so available rooms are scarce.  We recommend phoning ASAP to reserve if you are planning to stay at the Best Western.

ISWS 3 programs, 4-dog races, 150 yards (WRAG is not an LGRA-approved club)

Sunday, April 15

NOTRA: Whippets (1 year and older) – 300-yard sprint on grass, drag lure, 4 programs, 4-dog races
Greyhounds/Silkens 3 programs, 4-dog races
Both days – if we do not have at least 15 whippets, we will run an IWRO meet instead, same distances, 3 programs – winner of male and female stakes run a 4^th program for meet winner. Why IWRO? All the dogs can run.

WRAG members: We will be holding a Nationals planning/coordination meeting after awards on Saturday. Please plan on staying to attend the meeting.
