Here is the flyer for WRAG’s Jul 4/5 fun day and NOTRA race meet:

WRAG Fun Day and NOTRA Race Meet

Saturday, July 4th – Fun Day

Sunday, July 5th – NOTRA Meet – 270 yds, drag lure, four 4-dog programs

WRAG is hosting a combination Fun Day and Oval Race meet on July 4th weekend at the Sowards’ place – 2220 Glenwood Hwy, Goldendale, WA.

Saturday’s FUN Day – 10:00 am until the fun runs out!

We will have practice runs for pups and adults, as well as clinics on various race jobs:

  • Inspection Committee – including measuring
  • Placing (line) Judge
  • Foul Judge
  • Starter (box operator)
  • Paddock Official
  • (Due to the time and practice needed, there will be limited opportunity to learn lure operation.)

There will be a barbeque by the popular Gary’s BBQ (donations welcome) and a dessert potluck – so bring out those special recipes and whip up some fine desserts! There’ll be a prize for the best one!

Sunday’s NOTRA Meet

Inspection from 9:30 to 10:00 am, with draw promptly at 10:00am and racing thereafter.

We will be doing handicapped racing, with prizes for the top ten handicapped scores. Please note: handicapping does not affect official meet placements or points.

1st hound $14, 2nd/3rd hounds $10/each, $35 kennel rate.

Since this is a small club, we will need everyone to help out, particularly Place and Foul Judging. Sunday is sack lunch day and bottled water on ice will be provided. We will have a cooling pool for the dogs and walk-through mister in case of hot weather.

As usual there are some hookups for RVs, water, plenty of camping, a porta-potty (a new one is being delivered), swimming, and hiking down to the creek. Since there is limited shade, please bring your own shade in case it’s hot.

Please send all entries to Leanne Harrington at harril3@comcast.net.  Please include call name and NOTRA number. Other questions or directions? Call Jo Sowards, Race Director, at 509.773.3876 or e-mail shadowrunwhippet@hughes.net .

Please contact the club members listed in the flyer if you have any questions about the event.

I’m trying something new to try and alleviate the recent problems with PDF files. I HOPE I’ve solved that problem, but just in case not, I’ll also be including the original documents sent to me by the clubs. These documents are in a variety of formats, and you may not have the software to view them, but I’m hoping they might be a viable alternative for at least some of you if the PDFs continue to be a problem. As always, if you have trouble downloading files, please let me know.

“Damaged” premium lists

2009 May 18
by Beth Levine

I’ve been getting quite a few reports from people who are having difficulty downloading premium lists, specifically encountering errors that the file is damaged and cannot be repaired. Not everyone encounters the problem, and I’m really not sure what exactly is going on but I am trying to troubleshoot and hope to sort this out soon. The files themselves really are not corrupted in any way, but for some reason some browsers/readers are having difficulty downloading them. I need to investigate more fully, but in the meantime, if you encounter this problem, please try the following workaround:

Rather than clicking on the link in the regular way to open the file, RIGHT click on the link and choose “save link as” or “save file” or whatever variation displays on your computer. Save the file to your desktop or whatever folder you want, and then open the file from that location. This seems to work for some, but not all,  people who’ve tried it.

If it doesn’t work for you, please email me at webmaster@asfaregion1.com and specify which premium list you’re having trouble with, and I’ll email the files to you directly.

I’m so sorry for the inconvenience! I’ll keep investigating the problem, and will include this troubleshooting information in future premium list announcements.
